7-year-old girl killed in an accident; that makes no sense
She wakes up in the morning,
Hops out of bed,
Brushes her teeth,
Combs her hair.

She eats her breakfast,
Goes out the door,
Turns the corner,
Life is no more.

Who would have thought
This would be her last
Day to breathe a breath
To live until death?

All her life she feared the moment
When she would give
Up the ghost
Instead of live.

She was afraid to sleep
If death should come,
And living so long,
The veil is gone.

Was it the very second
The train took her away,
Or had it counted down
From first dust to final brown?

Unsure of the 'to come',
Afraid of fiery Hell,
Lost without hope,
Afraid of death's bell.

That child of only seven
Missed the chance
To find God's grace,
To learn to dance.

Why did she die young,
When others still live long,
While still others fail,
To give up the veil?
