Hope PREVAILS.
You only live once - but if you work it right, once is enough.
- Joseph Klewan

The upper ether beckons presence there,
To soon be granted by the summoned son.
For those - like me - who know that time is rare,
The highlights guide, but sheep-like eyes see none.

A teeming lot is riding on our years
Contained, but feigning freedom over graves.
Keep fears beyond the battle, past the tears.
The rattle to the tag - impasse with slaves.

The notion that, to be, one must consent
To wraths of life grown long and riddled sparse
Incurs a spur convening with dissent.
My heightened sense, the sixth, disclaims the farce.

My people wrestle questions to the end
While reason leads the destined to contend.

The guise of breath injects horizon’s snare.
This solemn game is played, but seldom won.
With gray, it baits the baying ones for fun.
The shepherd, now the driver, claims the fare.

In bondage, be it reason, fate, or Swear;
We earn - to eat - to fail, as frail, then done.
To urn or earth, from under sun or gun;
A lesson learned in death rescinds to share.

I stake what pelf I make on what I hear
From spirits that the past, enamored, saves.
To them that seem emboldened to ascent

A choice was given - as to those who leer
When graced by those who fell, but went in waves
To lock Pandora’s Box upon descent.
