self-expression of a revelation about love
Intimacy is…beautiful. Not just the intimacy between bed sheets, but intimacy between people, between intellects, between souls. The intimacy found only in love. Not misinterpreted infatuation, but true love.
Why is it that something so basic, so simple, so pure, can be so complicated? That this barest of all emotions which all strive for, whether consciously or not, so seldom found, is more often than not rejected for the simple fact that it is unknown. Man’s greatest fear is the unknown, and yet it holds his greatest accomplishment.
Why is it that with one person, a hug can last a lifetime? A simple gesture is turned into an eternal symbol of support, acceptance, and sometimes, rarely, understanding. This link, all too fragile, is stronger than the strongest metal, and undone only from within, never from without. Once established, it is never lost, although mayhap neglected or even rejected.
That rare person who can establish this link, not only establish but accept it, whether or not she fully understands this, this level of intimacy, has accomplished more than we can imagine. Yet we all behold and value this thing, this conundrum we call intimacy, though few indeed ever truly behold it, and fewer, are able to keep it.
