poem of love
His decibels shoot holes through my eardrums
I be long with him I don’t belong to him
He wants my ears to clap to every word he says and act dumb
Says I look beautiful in pink
Is it that my clothes? Because my nudity doesn’t look beautiful to him
My name is Rose
Before now I was a virgin like Mary
Even though fooled by the words he told
I’d still like to be called Rosemary
I am like a rose flower
69 times he has tasted by nectar
I am stupid or maybe I am in love
Or maybe I am stupid and I am in love
But what is love? He told me he loves me till Santa shaves his beard
That his love never came with a best before date
He loves me unconditionally he said
But his love is a bitter pill for my tongue to taste
Only two words mum said
Head first, heart next, safe sex
He said, hug first, love? Yes! Then sex
I’m a splenetic fool
Didn’t need biblical truth to know he’ll get me screwed
But sometimes I love him
What is love?
Love is a mixed bag of emotions
A step from familiar “strangership” to friendship to the bed sheet
Or love is “think twice and act once but not dumb”
Love is a springboard for your total being
Not a sling shot to self destruct your hearts’ feelings
Love is the evacuation of fears
The presence of joyful thoughts and ideas
A sponge for your tears
Darkness that conceals your fears
Love is a useful poison
Has killed me once yet I still live it
Love is hundred percent soul food bon a petit.
