A poem written about 3 years ago.
Tortured Dreams

I heard the voice of death
I saw the eyes of pain
The arms of life reached out
Trying to pull me through
I could feel myself crossing over time
It was cold and uncomfortable
I want to go back!
But there’s no voice
No voice within me to scream
All I wanted was to ease the pain
I never wanted this
I began to pull and tug
The strings of death pulling at my head
The clock stays the same
Time has not passed
It stood still
While I struggle
And hit the floor
A ringing sounds
Right by the bed
As I rolled over
I saw the alarm
It’s screaming at me
Make it stop, make it stop!
My mind races
Trying to figure it out
Once through time and pain
I was at the foot of death
And now at my slippers
Soon it will make sense
Soon I’ll be alive again
Soon I’ll have something to believe again
But soon is too far away
I’m trapped in a world I don’t understand
I’ve looked and searched
Nothing comes
I’ve written it down
But as usual it came against me
Please let me wake up
And end this tortured sleep
The phone is ringing
But it makes no sense, no sense at all
None of this makes sense
Am I alive or is death coming to get me?
