Philosophy, life's pain tolerated
A Paradox

Here’s a wounded psyche
Watching other wounded psyches,
From vantage points much higher, easily.
Seeing all the taking,
The quiet decimating,
As lives defined by others
Choose to live or die.
Inherited or baptized
It’s accepted resolutely
It is what it must be:
Reality.
And yet,
Few turn without regret,
But of the brave who do,
Championed intervention
Dedicated to survival,
Becomes the sovereign state;
For the sake of sanity.
Ensures control prevention,
Abandoning convention
Transforms and mitigates
Decisively.
Finds power and a purpose,
Assigns a fixed intent,
Accepts the orthodox,
Stays the course,
Plays the game,
Reluctantly.
Induced by disposition
Though wounded, dissolution
Exists through found diversions
And excursions,
Wittingly.
And the vigil seized of stamina
Redefines the mission
Grants the quest permission
To acknowledge predilection;
Bides time until the prize is borne:
Life lived deliberately.
