This is about reading between the lines...
Don't you know
you tear apart
deep convictions
in my heart?

I never will
love again.
I never want
to feel the pain.

But maybe you
can just be there,
and sometimes
maybe, even care.

I only want
a place to hide
when I can't take
the pain inside.

You are my friend.
You fill a need
that no one else
has seen in me.

I won't expect
anything from you.
I'll be a friend,
be there for you.
