It sounds boring, but I promise it's not.
This wall is strained:
It’s stood up to all these pressures for years.
Things have tried to knock it down, but
It has resisted all these forces because it has too.
It can’t show weakness,
Or start to crack.
If it started to
Some one would come.
They wouldn’t fix it;
They’d knock it down.

This wall is strained.
The pressure is building.
It wants to crack,
It needs to crack.
But it won’t crack,
It will continue to hold strong.
Against all odds it will survive.
Some times it may be at that point,
Where cracking seems inevitable.
It will always stand,
Against the pressure.

This wall is strained.
Do people care?
Why would they?
They can survive everyday,
Without the wall.
If the wall were to fall,
Their world wouldn’t change.
They could continue living,
Like it was an ordinary day.
The wall could crumble,
And they would never notice.

This wall is strained.
Yet, it will survive.
Over the years things have been written on the wall.
These things are a reminder
That life can be good,
And that life can be bad.
These things are a testimony,
Of what has happened
So we can remember,
And not repeat mistakes of the past:
The wall keeps standing.

This wall is strained.
The wall has stood,
Against the pressure.
The wall is standing.
It needs to crack,
But it won’t.
It will keep standing;
The wall won’t fall.
It may be at its breaking point,
But it won’t crack.
The strained wall stands.
