Growing older. Written at 18 yrs old.
Look at me, what do you see
Only an old frail woman
Lost in past’s firm grasp
A life of waste, ebbing away
Stop and think for a moment
Was I always this way

I dream of youth
Remembering days past
Forever alive in my memory
Sit and think for a moment
Will you forever be young
Yearning only to be older

Just wait awhile young lady
When the first shadows of age appear
Flaunting their mark on your skin
Will you enjoy the years
Waiting for the loss of youth
Or be like me.
