Young love.
Green leaves watch from above
Green grass comforts from below
Singing birds guard against intruders

Could I ask for a better place?
Enclosed with nature, yet still have space.

An awkward kiss
Reality fades

Whispers of love,
Promises made

I give him pleasure
He gives me pain

I stop for a moment.
Am I insane?

It hurts too much
We can't be one

But it’s too late
It’s already done.

He cleans me up
Then helps me dress

"We didn't protect"
He would confess.

I ran home
Where I could cry

My parents believed
My alibi

Months go by
My time is late

I lost a baby
In month eight

We were too young
To take that trail

At that age
Your soul is frail

Please young lovers
Take time to pause

Think of my story
And think of its cause.

Green leaves watch from above
Green grass comforts from below
Singing birds guard against intruders

Could I ask for a better place?
Enclosed with nature, yet still have space.

The place was perfect,
The time was not.

I gave in to love
When I should have fought.
