a poem about a friend of mine
I am a firework.
You are the ocean.
We are a circle:
I explode in a brilliant fit of passion
Lighting up your watery sky
Reflecting in you and burning brightly
Beautiful, vibrant, filled with your color
But the sky bleeds into the sparks
Leaving behind the ghost of a feeling
Of a mood, of the spirit of the
Ecstatic, combustible wonder
that once was there.
And this despair over the loss is fleeting
as the ashes imbue themselves in the wind
But the wind fades
And my remnants fall back into your
vast, time-filled body
And you remind me of what I once was
Of the reflection of me into you
And the sparks flare up once more-
There is no progress in the loop
There is only drowning myself in your company
