Poem about Peanut Butter
I am the peanut butter pick up truck.
Doncha just love saying that:
“P-E-A-N-U-T B-U-T-T-E-R P-I-C-K-U-P T-R-U-C-K”
Its smooth and creamy and plasters itself to the roof of your mouth.
Kinda like, well to be totally honest, Peanut Butter.

Plaster me over
A piece of Celery
A Banana
An Apple
Or whatever your pleasure
The effect is always the same.

Pucker and smack your tongue this way and that
Fight the plaster but it’s made to last.
Wash it out with whole, two percent, or skim,
But that can turn out to be rather slim of perfection.

I know I know, you’re probably thinking to yourself
“Isn’t the peanut butter pickup truck, peanut butter?”
Well to be totally honest again, no I am not,
I am so much more and
so much less at the same time.

Share me with a tall shaken glass of chocolate
Milk and you will feel gentle lacerations of delight,
Excite that inner being I like to call “childhood.”

It’s in all of us whether we are
Old or young
Big or small
Happy or sad.
You just have to let ourselves be taken away.
You have the ability
Go for a ride.
