a sad but true story
From your first waking thought til you stumble to bed,
The longing for her aches in your head
When the workday's done you know what you’ll do
There’s never a doubt, or a worry about, whether she’ll be there for you

How you love to remove her top, knowing inside you can never stop
The feel of her in your hand, almost more than you can stand
Sweet taste on your lips you’re drinking her in
Her taste overwhelming you again and again

She always gives you that fire inside,
As she robs your soul and steals your pride
You know in your heart that it can’t go on
But you tremble and shake whenever she’s gone

So empty and cold when you crawl out of bed
Aching inside and filled with dread
For the lover you’ve given these years like a wife
Is a bottle of booze that’s robbed you of life
