A short poem about a mother who lost her son to gun crime.
She stood amongst the sleeping graves,
eyes sternly fixed on his tombstone.
As she mourned there lost in her grief,
she caught an autumn leaf falling,
slowly drifting towards the ground,
colored brown and riddled with holes
like the body of her dead child.
