This is a poem of metaphorical rebirth of love.
My wounds too deep for healing,
I close my eyes to drift away,
Leave the world and all my pain,
I’ve no more cause to stay,

The world is fading quickly,
And my pain is almost gone,
The battle with death is lost,
But the war with myself is won,

The final breath is drawn,
And the final sigh released,
Darkness deeper than sleep,
And I am gone, deceased,

But from the ashes rekindles,
A fire dead in life,
A fire lost in constant battle,
Lost in eternal strife,

Spreading wings and taking flight,
This phoenix is, it seems,
Joy and love thought forever gone,
But reborn of death and dream.
