About a depressed narrator deciding between life and death...
I stand on the edge of a steep cliff,
Looking down into the gaping maw of darkness.
The void beckons me, as a way to end the pain
One step
And it will all be over.

I raise my foot toward that seductive surrender...

And I pause.
What about those I leave behind?
They don't understand the siren call of death.
My choice will bring them such torment and remose...

I lower my foot to the earth.

I must stay and get through this,
Endure for all those who care.
Yet the darkness beckons me,
And I cannot turn away from it.

The stalemate continues,
As I contemplate my next step...
