In my twilight years, I find opportunity less than forthcoming.
I barely see it anymore
staring back at me
challenging my thoughts
provoking my emotions
it's just a door.

A door to a dream
a door to a lover
a new adventure
so many possibilities
it's just a door

I knock once then twice
I reach - it fades
so much more to know
so much to see through
this uninviting door
