A god I don't believe in.
The Witnesses

Pound on my door, the two of you.
Tell me what you know of Great Jehovah,
How he tolerates no celebrations
Of our country’s birth, or yours or mine.
Even Jesus has no birthday parties.
Is this the world you think is right and fine?
No valentines, no flag salutes,
No Easter baskets, jack-o-lanterns.

And if there were a carousel
Only one hundred forty-four thousand
souls could catch the ring.

Tell me this of Great Jehovah:
Doesn’t he like to play?

My God does.
