My first writing.com poem. Short but inspired by personal events. Just testing waters....
A hesitation opened a door
to find a room lined with a lie.
Dark and barren was its decor
Veiled, the windows hid the sky

To exit only meant to look away
from your eyes so grey, bled of life
The wind would suggest my stay
had ended without mending pain and strife

Cold hard iron it was pressed
soon it twisted in my very spine
Then your hands gently caressed
the knife, its wrath so fine

A body hit the corroded floor
as it echoed through the breeze
A tear as I walked out the door
unbroken I slipped away with ease.
