could have described today
It was one, or was it noon?
Frankly I do not know the hour
Sitting near a coffee house
Decision took me and off I went

Talking to my Email I grumbled
Something moderately violent
The keys stuck together due to
what must have been a cafe mocha

Who would have thought
that such a heavenly drink
Burned so deep into my pores
And have disabled my keyboard

Intention had set me out
Finding nothing other than you
Conspiring as they do the fates
had it out for me once again

"Nice hair" the words came from me
Showing my undeniably consistant grace
Upon this again your expression contorted
"Nice face" you reciprocated elegantly

It seem at that moment I had little choice
I opened my mouth and once again
my foot inserted itself like a regular
So it is when you are infatuated

Now on a corner out in the rain
A bus slowly passes by
It stops or swerves just to make
The water, a puddle, fly

Now my apartment is cold and bare
this days events seemed to wane
I reached for my wallet, or just some change
to find my keys in my car, locked inside

Just then as I call triple A
A number appears on the other line
I answer wearily suspecting the worst
You simply say to me hello

A happiness to your voice it would seem
Made me want a smile and to cry
Though it was you whose presence
Split this day in thirty pieces

Everything would be ok just to hear
a friendly hello and how are you
Those few words made this nightmare
seem anew when I had loathed this day.
