the duplicitious nature of recognizing one's passion in life...a poem in the works
Alluring temptress, how you haunt me
Take back your offer I want it not.
Passion is my hell;
For in this gift there lies a curse-
My failures are realized and
my emptiness is unshrouded.

All consuming evil take back your present!
Do not reveal my inadequacy.
Instead, let me rest in mediocrity,
for that is where true happiness lies.
I freely give up passion, so I may live.
Instead, take this cursed knowledge and
with fortitude I possess not,
allow it to consume you.
Sacrifice yourself to it.
Passion may be my hell but it could be your heaven.
