Short poem in the works, any feedback is greatly appreciated!
                My burdened soul--
It is too heavy I scream.
Pain slices through the air, echoing in the night.
Lost I drift away, consciousness remains, but no more am I.
         Wither did I go?
         All is darkness.

There remains all that is left.
         Corrupted, disfigured, alone.
         To gaze is too much.
The pain remains, the burden is gone
         What more is left?

To look upon and see, is to behold the work of evil.
         My soul clings, yet barely.
         Mutilated, disgusting, corrupted.
         Its slight pulse weakens.

The prison that I have forged is my own undoing.
Trapped by thought, plagued by decisions
         Inactive I remain
Lost among a path of sorrows only the straight remains
To take the first step is to die again

The image of a corpse imprinted yet
         I take the step…crooked I will remain.
