trying to leave it behind
The worst thing about moving on
Is watching the receding landscape
Shrink and fade
Into a blurred past
That will never come again-
Fabric of long familiar ways
Unraveling behind like the road home;
Pieces of heart unwound
Until nothing is left
But a thread tugging.
Some knots never come undone.
