This is a feeling of Autumn bringing on Winter.
My breath inhales the new season
and life turns over
much like
the orange leaf
that is lifted from its lofty tower.
It is this leaf I observe
while sprawled comfortably
upon the dry earth.
Its orange is the color of fire.
It warns of winter weather
as earth accepts it,
mulch.
