Even though I had to leave her behind, somethings can never be forgotten.
I forgot to look, watched the veering cars roll
right on by.
Please be the person, the one holding me all together.
I sometimes forget, forget what it was to be the one holding the cards.
Misery is a compliment trapped within a time and within this space.
I’ve been crying, shedding the tears from this life.
I’ll wake up screaming one morning and from there, perhaps
I’ll be alright.

I’ve cussed out loud.
Held the lights so closely I’ll know what it’s like
to walk around blind.
Pity a fool for no complaints.
But don’t pity me for this.

Memories trapped in a dream.
Held to the thin sharp line of confusion.
Mis communication held down from this point.
Utterly knowing the following words.

I forgot to be there, forgot to let myself heal.
Now I’ll carry this burden to my death.
Wondering if you’ll ever still look at me the same.
It’s been a year and three months since I’ve seen you..
I can’t shake this, can’t shake the visions haunting my mind.
I’ll scream, bleed if I forget how to feel.
But I’ll never forget you..
