A description of a good and hard rain.
The sunlight cut into streaks
by the looming tree limbs and leaves,
while out in the open it was a stark bright pool.
All of this was before the opaque clouds formed.
Then, heavy drops of water fell hard onto the earth
as if to punish it for some unkind deed.
Harder and harder the drops did plummet,
watering the world about me.
As quickly as it rose, it departed.
All of the seeming anger became gentle.
Mudholes were left as evidence waiting to be
absorbed. The thirsty trees enjoyed their bounty.
