false hope, false love
CHEAP

I don't know if it was for company
or whether a search for true love
but whatever it was for
it hurts me to think about it

I guess it may have been an escape
from her everyday life and routine
a break from the kids and marriage
either way it was not meant to last

With all that she told me
all that she said she felt inside
were they just all lies forgotten
taken for granted as our relationship was

I remember her telling me that
whatever happened we would be friends
even that has now dimmed in the night
and all but memories are left

To be told she would even consider
starting another family with me
then with the blink of an eye
becoming total strangers once again

Is it any wonder I feel so hurt
when all that was said was so cheap
emotions thrown around with no meaning
and all but one heart left in pain, mine
