Poem for a contest
The darkness wakes inside me
And I wonder how long I can fight.
When my soul yearns for the seduction
Awaiting me in eternal night.
This dancer is familiar –
I know I’ve felt his arms before.
But then I was stronger
Able to walk away not wanting more.
Tonight the demons are calling –
Taunting me with a wicked sneer,
But how can I fight them?
When I know it’s really me I fear.
