For the "Take My Phrase" contest.
Silence.
All I ask of you is silence,
so we can sit in front of each other
and say nothing at all.
Funny how it keeps me sane,
something so small.

I don't need your words;
words mean lies and pretenses.
They cut me like swords,
and they hold no answers.

Don't promise me forever
because you can't be sure
And don't say you love me
I don't believe it anymore.

Let me look into your eyes
and see only what's true
Don't throw sweet sentences
out of the blue

Grace is a uniform
you wear only too well,
but on the hypocrisy of that
I'm too tired to dwell

If I wanted a fairy-tale,
I'd ask for lies and disguises
As for now,
Just give me my silence.
