This was inspired by the Aurora Borealis...
You are my shimmering iridescent one,

The cool morning breeze that caresses my face,

You are the life giving breath when I am drowning in your beauty,

And you taste of the darkest nights and even darker thoughts,

Yet you bring with you all the joys of the world,

Meandering across the sky in your careless way,

Descending on the earth with undulating desire,

Heaving your very self towards the heavens,

Only to plummet back down to earth,

Like a fallen angel with feathers of lead,

Or a shooting star without a course,

And the memory of that light is beneath my fingertips,

Close to my grasp but playfully out of reach,

And I am aware of your casual immortality,

As you are aware of me.
