A jazz tune I wrote similar to old standards.
Once the fool am I pretending not to care
When you pass by with someone new
Once the fool am I, not trying to repair
Myself from this hazy shade of blue..

Once the fool am I for trying to understand
Why you do the things you do.
Now I'm only lonely, Misery dispair
Behind the scenes waiting for my cue..

Once our love was true and steady as an evergreen
Blooming Brighter each and every year
Now that love has faded...so I've masqueraded
A harlequin to shed one tiny tear...

Now you've got another waiting in the wings
I hope your troubles will be few..
Once the fool am I as I long to see you here..
But twice the fool, my baby, are you.
