Writen for my ex-boyfriend before we broke up when times weren't the best between us....
Monster

I wish you were a drug
so I could get so high off you
that I would float away and forget
everything you’re doing to me....

You’re the breath that fills my lungs each day
but you deserve so much better
than what this little slut has to offer.

I can’t bear to let you go
but I can’t keep hanging on in vain
to a branch that’s slowly weakening in my grasp.

I’m so scared that I’ll break you
and as you lay bloody and dying
you’ll finally see me for the monster I am
and curse me softly with your last breath.
