Though the body gets weaker with age, true love only grows stronger.
The Same Perfume

I sit back in my evening chair,
And watch the tired day wind down,
I admire my wife’s beauty, as-
She slips into her evening gown.

Though many years have passed us by,
Some spent at each other's throats.
Her every smile still stops my world;
And mine stops hers; her smile denotes.

Though round’ our eyes, there’s wrinkles now;
That guide the way for every tear.
Our hearts still hold the epic strength,
They used to boast in yesteryear.

I stand up from my evening chair,
And walk across the dim lit room,
I lay next to my sleeping wife,
And breathe her sweet tasting perfume.
