A poem/writing I made recently when my husband went on deployment for 6 months
What do you do without the one you love?
As you try to go on with your life,
You know it is nothing without them.

So how do you get past that.
You try to stay busy and try to forget they're gone
But it's never that easy

When I wake up I know he isn't there.
All I want is to have him there to hold.
To tell him I love him and kiss him one more time.

Looking at pictures hurts you too much.
Remembering happier times, kills you inside
And every fight you ever had just seems stupid

So how do you really fix it?
You can't.
All you can do is wait.

Wait until your life rights itself
Wait until he comes home
Wait until you can feel safe again.

Every step on the stairs makes you jump
Every jingle of keys, every door opening.
But then you see, it's not him

I miss him so much
I can't move from the floor.
I can't eat anything

I just want him home.
