A poem I wrote while I should have been paying attention in math class.
I realize I'm not breathing,
And my heart is beating faster.
The lines and circles dissipate...
The numbers never mattered.

My body tingles eagerly;
I wait for something new to start.
But needs and wants all go unanswered;
Distractions bubble over.

Disenchantment with this life,
Go back to all the numbers.
Maybe answers lie inside yourself
Instead of all the others.

Disappointment ravaging souls,
Equations left unanswered
Amidst destruction, realize
The numbers never mattered.
