At the crossroads of two relationships...
You’re torn
Between history and future
You’re scorn
You’re really just so unsure

The history isn’t so shallow
Not just the recent past
But from so long ago
Its just what you know

Even seems ordinary
Should you except it
Is that really customary?
Make the most of it?
Or settle for content
Is that really life well spent?

Whats the unknown
Could it be
What you think is possible
Or just a dream
Maybe its unattainable
Out of your reach
Maybe its plausible
A given right for each?

You are you
who you were raised to be
But theres more

Theres who you are
And theres who you will be
Don’t you want better
Don’t you want to chase
Chase what you can see?

Ignore the guilt
The feeling of failure
These will make you wilt
Make you that failure!

Its not so simple
This crossroad
Major implications
How do you know

Protecting so many hearts
Is such a responsibility
But not one for a single person
To take the accountability

The answers are there
You have to dig deep
Find something within
That wont make you weep.
Its only fair
…to you
