Don't jump to conclusions until you finish reading this poem
A LESSON LEARNED.

You were hot as I held you up to my lips,
My hands were a-tingle, as were my finger tips.
Then you warmed to my touch and I savoured the taste
Of your sweet and warm liquid, to be drunk without haste.

Then I put you aside when I wasn't quite done,
I vowed to come back to you later on.
I was away for too long, for when I returned
You were gone. And this is the lesson I've learned.

"Til you're finished your coffee, keep your cup close at hand,
For the "magic bit" at the bottom just tastes oh so grand.
Walk away and you'll lose it, someone will find the cup,
And before you get back, they'll have gone and washed up!
