losing one's self in a destructive relationship
I'm drowning in you, the words are swirling all around me.
I'm being pushed and pulled and thrown into this ocean of us.
I've lost my control, I can't find "me" anymore.
The waters are so deep, so murky, I cannot see.
I feel desperate, you are drowning me.
Your'e taking me down.
My desperation is closing in.
My spirit fights, I need air.
I am fighting for my life.
Your'e grip starts to loosen and still I fight.
You reach out again and I move away, I am free.
I find my own ground. The air is so sweet.
I am steady, this is calm. The tides have shifted.
I am safe, and you are a distant memory.
