Waiting

This night I sit and wait
For a call that never came
Perhaps then this is fate
Or is it myself I blame

Yonder is the road afar
Whose end we cannot see
Gazing up to search for stars
But only darkness greets thee

Alone I sit and wait again

Till the time I keel over and die in pain
