a poem about feeling lost, hopeless, and alone
I'm sitting alone surrounded by people,

Far away there are voices that beg me to hear,

My eyes are open and blinking, but no one can see inside all of the tears,

I don't want them to know me,

They are liars and users,

It's useless,

This emptiness,

I'm sitting alone.

I am standing still while buses fly by and people knock my elbow as they pass,

But I do not move,

I'm thinking and searching,

I'm remembering my past,

I can't let them see me,

I struggle to move on, but my legs are frozen,

I am standing still.

I am here now in this room as we speak watching you to see what you will say,

I will not talk to you,

I am a part of this room and it's pain,

I won't let you see me cry,

I just wait to be heard,

You are right there,

Between the door and my door, a door that is open,

only for those who want to come in.

I am here now.
