This is the second poem i wrote, published in school's litery mag.
I am a Rock.

I am a rock, all hard and useless,
But if I were precious,
Maybe I could be of some use.

If I were a Diamond,
Oh! How nice it would be.
All kingdoms would fight for me.
Huge and bright,
I would be worth a fight,
But sadly, I’m not a diamond.

If I were a Ruby,
All red and shiny,
I would make all the other stones,
Go green with envy.
Queens would covet me,
And Kings admire,
But sadly, I’m not a ruby.

If I were Coal,
Not so beautiful I suppose,
But at least I could be of some help.
I’d work in trains,
But I’d get burned up,
No way!

So, I’m happy just being a rock.
Even though I’m useless and hard,
At least I cause no trouble,
Unlike those pretty precious stones.
