Rebirth and longing to return to a familiar place

indu iskari

in soul i drift
a lone forgotten thing in journey
once upon a time in flesh
so dark that brown had no name

i slip through
a web of time unto
some old forgotten town in india
whose shrine bears my name

indu iskari
the little boy who drowned
but came back as a cow
or a bird, or a man like me

it’s strange to drift
when time has no place
and this place is so far from you
but i know one day, yes

i’ll come back with you
