Who's doing the letting go, I wonders?
They keep cutting the tethers
That ground me
Over this parade-
So little remains secure,
Tied to solid ground.

Leaning akimbo,
Drifting left of center-
I don't know what I fear more:
Sharp edges that cut or
Wide sky yawning.

They just march away.
