this is something I did in honor of Mary Shelley, of "Frankienstien" fame.
Lightning flashes
signals the work
to begin-

Maddened by their
hypocrisies, he looks
as the deformity
under the sheet-

"We will absolve
ourselves of this"
looking to the assistant
"throw the switch"

Sweat glistens
from his forehead
as haunted memories
rise to greet him-

And as the dawn
breaks rapturous
the night has gone-

But now walks
on feet borrowed
from the dead-

Forward into fear
the chosen are pushed
to punish

As stitches and
scars run
across the skin,
left for you
to look and
feel-

The beast
made of men
where God is not
the only one
to intimidate
and to cower too-
