Feelings of despair yield to repair
Mary, Mary quite contrary,
How does you incecesant mind go ?

With thoughts of despair
And thoughts everywhere,
You're sure to spiral so.

Your ideas never cease
And look not for release,
They're friend yet cryptic foe.

They companion till dawn
Stripping away all brawn,
Till you no more do glow.

    Mary, Mary quite solitary,
How does your forlorn day go?

    With books as your cohort
    And words as your sport,
    You're withdrawn as E.A. Poe.

    Sun strikes your shielded pane
It tries to enter in vain,
    Dancing stilted to and fro.

    Again and again alone
    But inaudible is your groan,
The world does not hear your woe.

        Mary, Mary quite extraordinary,
How does one make you glow?

        With compassion and ally
And time kindly spent to cry,
Slowly off the shroud will flow.

        Seeds embedded with hope
        Planted deep not to grope,
        Nourish new thoughts and sow.

        When luster you burst outright
        Feeling warm inner true light,
Old days of quail you'll not know.

            Mary, Mary quite contrary
How does your peaceful mind go?
