A pit of dispair
Closing in, falling tightly

into a jumble of confusion

a need to be someone to anyone

a need to be needed, instead of needing

why is it so constricting?

this vastness never leads to a horizon

it's a light, fastly fading

mocking will and desire

racing and always pulling

just that much farther

tempting and teasing with falsehoods

of love and adorement

whats that happy medium?

is it silently waiting to be stumbled upon?

the passion has been broken

the fire has been prodded too much

and the last smoldering bits

float through my fingers

lay on the floor ashen

soon to be swept away,

and forgotten
