Not so good types of love
Wedding three for her, six for him.
Pre-nup signed; a party with friends.
Then nothing but work each day brings.
She has all the expensive things.

But yet it's just never enough,
And they call it love.

So on it goes. We all know them.
The victims and those who'll not bend.
They stay while we just look away.
Do they know any other way?

They can't have what they're in need of,
And they call it love

She bathes her timid three year old.
His bruised flesh and his battered soul,
Cringing, sobbing, afraid, alone,
Maybe tonight he won't come home.

Bitter pain is all he knows of,
And they call it love

Down town a couple work so hard.
Each separate; a front and back yard.
Then each weekend discovers,
He and she have other lovers.

Always doubt; issues of trust.
And they call it love

So on it goes.  We all know them.
The victims and those who'll bend.
They stay while we just look away.
Do they know any other way?

They can't have what they're in need of.
They call it... Love?
