This came about after a night of friendship and fun gone terribly wrong.
The beast within has awakened, alert, eyes wide, locked on his prey.
Senses sharpened, blood boiling, turning to steam, powering the rage
that
builds deep inside.
Muscles tense, aching to strike, heart pounds, nostrils flare, breathing
quickens, voice bellowing, he knows no fear, he sees only evil before
him.
He hears the voices, sees the faces, but doesn't understand, the words
have
no meaning, his one call is to protect from harm those he loves, sees as
threatened.
His prey weaves and dances, the beast never takes his eyes away, his
entire
being ready to fight.
The tension builds, he springs, obstacles in his way, blocking him from
his
one desire, the one emotion that drives him, to eliminate the threat he
sees
before him.
The prey escapes, seeking shelter in a far away place, leaving the
beasts
appetite unsatisfied, his thirst unquenched.
Slowly the rage subsides, the beast within slowly
calms,waiting,watching,only
when he knows the threat is gone, the danger passed, can he go back to
the
darkest recesses of the mind and soul where he has lived for so long,
hoping
to never be awakened again.
He sleeps, a restless sleep for now.Waiting for the call to arms he
fears
will come once again. Hoping it doesn't,wanting to sleep a long
peaceful
sleep, his world, the friends, the loves in his world, safe once again.
Even
though he sleeps, he is still there, deep within, waiting, watching,
mindful
he may be awakened again, praying he is not, wanting to live a peaceful
existence.
The beast is quiet now...................
