A Sad Life.
Her blond pigtails bounced in the sun.
A kitten snuggled in her arms.
Patterns of flowers on her sun dress.
The smell of subtle daisy perfume.
Daddy's little girl with nothing to fear.

Her hair no longer blond pigtails, but dyed and straight.
A kitten no longer snuggled in her arms.
Sun dresses traded in for tight fitting jeans.
Though she still smells of flowers, so sweet.
Little girl with everything to fear.

Her hair no longer shines or bounces.
Arms that hold nothing dear.
No mention of clothes this time round.
Still the smell of flowers linger faintly.
Little girl no longer has anything to fear.

The knife lay glistening by her hair.
Bloody arms stretched out on the floor.
I will still pray for her.
That she may be once more.

Her golden halo shines
A kitten again in her arms.
White dress in a field of butterflies.
The smell of roses so divine.
Daddy's little girl once again.
