Inspired by my parents. Mom and Dad, thanks for giving me something to write about.
She lays down,
Stares at the ceiling,
Wonders what she's done
That is so terribly wrong.

She wants them to love her
But they never will.
Wants them to care;
They can't care for her.

She tries so hard
Just to keep them happy,
But it's never enough.
Nothing's ever good enough.

She needs them to see
The good that she does,
Before they shove her
Over the edge

She doesn't understand.
What more can she give?
They will never see
That she is wonderful.
